It’s always gratifying in life to see great people get rewarded.
Jim Heintzelman spent nine seasons with the Griffins (1998-2007), the first five as a locker room attendant and the last four as our assistant equipment manager. After serving two seasons as the equipment manager for the Rockford IceHogs, AHL affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks, he joined the parent club prior to last season as an equipment assistant.
Talk about your good timing.
As we all know, Chicago ended its long Stanley Cup drought in June, and Jim had his day with the cup on Wednesday in West Michigan. Hundreds of his friends and family flocked to the Bay Pointe Inn on Gun Lake to celebrate with him, and several media outlets made the trek down as well.
Congratulations, Jim, on a job well done. It couldn’t have happened to a better guy. Enjoy!
