To date, 31 Griffins alumni have played in the NHL this season. Some, like Joey MacDonald and Jeremy Williams, have appeared in just one contest, while many others have played crucial roles in their teams’ success.

Eight alumni can currently be found on the roster of the Detroit Red Wings, whose 44 points pace the Western Conference and tie Pittsburgh for second in the NHL, behind only Philadelphia.

And speaking of the league-leading Flyers, our old friend Ville Leino has been a huge part of their success, having already more than doubled the point total (24 to 11) and surpassed the goal total (8 to 6) from his rookie 2009-10 campaign that he split between Detroit and Philly.
